The great thing about this upright is the ability to adjust height with precision accuracy. All you have to do is lift the upper pole up a little bit to take the weight off the sleeve. When you do this you can easily lift the sleeve and keep it up to lower/raise the upright. When you are done making adjustments, let go of the sleeve and the pole will stay in the adjusted height position.
